This story is part of a series and I recommend reading them in order. Angel fled with Frank when Vincent was taken down, unfortunately someone is still after Angel and the Avenger is hit as he makes his escape. Crash landing on Earth wasn’t perfect but it made for a great hiding place… until they realised the planet was inhabited. Frank turned on his crime boss wanting to get out of crime but he was shot, now he wakes up in a cell alongside Angel on Earth, a planet that should be deserted, and they have to come up with a plan to escape, contact the Alliance and find out who wants Angel dead.
So in this instalment of Alliance we are returning back to Earth the place where it all started many years before. Angel has fallen for Frank hard and snatches him when everything crashes around Vincent’s shoulder, now Angel finds himself locked in a cell on Earth after crash landing after being attacked, he has to find a way to contact his father and brother and discover who is after him but first he has to make sure Frank is okay and finally get into his pants. Frank is happy to be out of the life of crime but he still has to testify, when he and Angel manage to negotiate with the inhabitants on Earth, and Angel convinces him it can work, he begins to see a future for himself and Angel.
This is a very good novella with the story of Alliance being continued with Angel’s story, starting just after he disappeared in Reward. Angel is a ninja assassin, head of Undercover Ops for the Alliance, during his last op he fell for Frank and decided to bring Frank in and have him turn on his crime boss, but now stranded on Earth they can act on their attraction. Frank wants to change and doesn’t think he is good enough for Angel when he discovers who Angel really is. Both men are perfect for each other and the sex is explosive and hot, even when they try to be gentle.
I loved how this story was set and how new people have been brought in, the inhabitants on Earth will make for new blood in the Alliance and I am really interested to see Archer Toc’s story. Angel and Frank have a lot of excitement in this one and Angel discovers who Vincent’s silent partner was, while Frank tries to keep everyone safe. Returning to Earth is a great new opening for the Alliance, returning to its roots so to speak and I can’t wait to discover what new ways this will affect future stories.
I will recommend this to those who love science fiction, danger, new alliances, changing roles, hot men and hot sex and a very happy ending.
